The Government of India formulated the national policy for persons with disabilities in February, 2006. This policy deals with the issues of educational rehabilitation of persons with various kinds of disabilities. Supplementary to this, Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Govt. of India, prohibits discrimination against individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Chaiduar College takes the matter of the Divyangan people in educational institutions with utmost seriousness, and aims to promote an inclusive and disable friendly environment for effective and equitable teaching-learning process. All the stakeholders of the college share this collective sense of responsibility towards persons with disability and to secure for them accessible ways and means so that such students and staff do not feel disadvantaged inside the college premise. In view of this, Chaiduar College has implemented this policy document which recognizes that persons with disabilities are valuable human resource for the institution and that an environment must be in place in the college which ensures equal opportunities, protection of their rights and full participation in the academic environment.
