- What is the key benefit your host institution got from the biotech hub programme
of DBT (such as NAAC grading, special status/recognition, award & honour, any
major scientific achievement, etc).
Biotech hub program of DBT has immensely benefited the institution as a whole and Department of Zoology in particular. NAAC peer team was highly satisfied after inspecting the infrastructure, facilities, manpower and teaching learning and research activities. As a result the NAAC peer team has instructed the college to open PG courses in Zoology. Dr. Ajit Hazarika, coordinator(2011-2018) of the Biotech Hub and Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology was conferred with INSA best Science Teacher Award for the year 2017. In addition Gauhati University has recognized Biotech Hub as a Research Lab. for research activities. All these achievements have been realized because of the support and funds gathered from Biotech Hub, DBT, Govt. of India.
Dr. Raju Ojah coordinator(2023-till date) of the Advanced Level Institutional Biotech Hub and Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry was conferred with best Teacher Award for the year 2024 by Gohpur sub division, Biswanath, Assam.
